The first CD-ROM on apitherapy |
European Association for Apitherapy has been founded through the impulse of Prof. Bernard Descottes, Chief of Service for Visceral Surgery at the C.H.U. of Limoges (France). The purpose of this association is to Federate, Organize, Study and Diffuse the Apitherapy.
We feel that the creation of a european association in this field of activity meets the wishes of the medical, agricultural and institutional world. The searchers, the therapeutists, the apiarists, the associations involved in health, and other interlocutors have proved their interest. The last congres of Apimondia in Lausanne in August 1995 confirmed this need.
The Association defines its first objectives, as beeing the link and the spokesman of this discipline, covering on one hand the techniques of apiculture production dedicated to therapeutic use, on the other hand the handling of the products of the bee-hive by the medical corps, or even improving the communications between searchers. It will also control the scientific severity applied by this matter.
It will create the appropriate conditions to allow the development of well defined and standardized products of the bee-hive that meet the needs of hospitals and other therapeutists.
Only the dialog between the apiarist and the medical needs will allow the developement of an apicultural production for therapeutic purpose.
The members will find into the Association a forum for shearing their know-how, which constitutes a benefit for the future.
Last but not least, the governemental ant international institutions will recognize in the Association a structure that will facilitate the building of long term projects in this field, for instance in the less developed countries.
The European Association for Apitherapy will edit at the attention of its members a journal. This support will allow the therapeutists, the apiarists and all the other searchers active in this domain to share the results of their works.
